Peter Waldleitner, 3G Media

Mr. Waldleitner is a well-known cellular phone expert. More than ten years ago he founded the magazine “connect”, Europe’s biggest magazine for telecommunication. Since May 2002 he is managing director of 3G Media GmbH.

3G Media is the first publishing house for mobile content in Germany. Founded in May 2002 it focuses on the development of mobile portals and high-end content. Customers are, among others, T-Mobile, Vodafone Information Systems, Nokia, Siemens, Alcatel, debitel and music labels like Warner and SPV.

Experts

Prof. Dr. Margot Berghaus, University of Mannheim

Mrs. Berghaus is professor in media and communication sciences at the University of Mannheim. After a PhD in literature and philosophy and a professorship in sociology she has specialised in media research: first at the Hans-Bredow institute for radio and TV, since 1989 in Mannheim, having a chair of media and communication studies.

Thorsten Höpken, Vodafone

Mr. Höpken is a trained banker as well as a qualified management expert. For more than 2 years Mr. Höpken works for Vodafone in product marketing, more precisely in the "UMTS-Launch-Team". He is project leader of internal as well as external UMTS-test activities and coordinates  in addition "3G international roaming". Vodafone is the biggest company in cellular phone network worldwide. With 26 networks and nine further partner networks Vodafone serves more than 123 customers worldwide. Vodafone has an annual turnover of more than 40 billion Euro and employs around 70.000 people worldwide.

Holger Kennke, Materna

Mr. Kennke works for MATERNA Information & Communications GmbH since 1997. In the business unit communications he is in charge of the distribution of Materna’s mobile services in the southwest of Germany. His product portfolio comprises MMS/SMS, gateway service, mobile payment applications, content platforms and content as such as well as unified messaging systems. Furthermore Mr. Kennke works in the training centre for Microsoft, Lotus, Novell and Veritas products.

Prof. Dr. Harald Melcher, University of Applied Sciences, Esslingen

Mr. Melcher teaches at the University of Applied Sciences Esslingen in communication technology, mobile communication and marketing. Before he worked for over 10 years in product marketing for measurement devices in the communication technology for the world’s second biggest company in this area. With this background he is familiar with most of the producers and distributors of these technologies.   Today Mr. Melcher is also head of the department information technology at the University of Applied Sciences in Esslingen, being in charge of 26 professors and 600 students

Elke-Maria Melchior, ACit

Mrs. Melchior is trained in business, commerce and psychology. She is managing director of ACit GmbH 

ACit is a research-oriented consultancy located in Bretten, close to Heidelberg. ACit offers consulting services in the design and evaluation of interactive technical systems in various application areas (among others e-publishing, e-commerce, e-business, e-learning). The underlying expertise has been acquired in various research contracts and in EU-funded projects. ACit focuses on the improvement of the user-computer interaction from a user’s perspective. ACit also offers workshops and systematic coaching to enhance the competence for user-oriented product development.

Thomas Schneider, Stuttgarter Zeitung

From the beginning Mr. Schneider has been in charge of the online editorial department, a joint cooperation of the Stuttgarter Zeitung and the Stuttgarter Nachrichten. Apart from the presentation of newspaper content the team is also providing extensive online news and service databases. Before, Mr. Schneider worked for 15 years as a print editor, many years of which for the Stuttgarter Nachrichten. He nowadays is a guest lecturer at the University of Hohenheim, teaching online journalism.
