4. Specific local
circumstances
Romanians have Latin origin and their language keeps many Latin words and
grammatical structure. In the same time they are Eastern Othodox declaring
themselves (after the 2000 census) as 90 % believers. Therefore Latinity and
Orthodoxy is an unique specific aspect of Romanians. In Romania live a strong
Hungarian community, a Gipsy minority and others in smaller number.
The lack
of infrastructure ( hotels and roads) kept away tourists, despite the fact that
Romania benefits from a generous nature and wildlife is still present (with 6000
brown bears Romania ranks the second in Europe after Russia, the 2000 wolves
represents the largets woolf population in Europe between Atlantic and Ural
Mountains) and the Danube Delta is a paradise on European land for birds and
fishes.
The people are friendly-happy to welcome visitors, the spiritual life
is rich, Romanians have the richest folklore in Europe, the cultural life in
Bucharest is animated.
